Scarce. Nice early hellenistic style. Light tone. Extremely fine.

Head of Athena r., wearing crested Corinthian helmet decorated with snake; she wears ear pendant and a necklace. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ - ΒΑ-ΣΙΛΕΩΣ Nike, wearing long chiton, standing l., hloding stylis with her l. hand, wreath in her outstretched r. hand; low in field l., head of Silenus looking upwards, low in field r., monogram within wreath. Price 476, 3735; SNG Berry 183.
Large flan. Good style. Extremely fine.

DEMETRIUS POLIORCETES, king 306-283 BC. Tetradrachm, Amphipolis, about 290-289. AR 16.98 g. Head of Demetrius r., wearing royal diadem and bull's horn on forehead. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ Poseidon, nude and bearded, standing l., leaning forwards, r. foot placed on rock, holding trident with his l. hand, his r. arm resting on his r. thigh; in inner l. and r. field, two monograms. Newell, Demetrius 109, CV/201 (this specimen mentioned); SNG Oxford 3253.
Scarce. Old cabinet tone. Extremely fine

PATRAOS, king 340-315 BC. Tetradrachm. AR 12.41 g. Laureate head of Apollo r. Rev. Π - Α - ΤP[Pretrograd]ΑΟΥ Paeonian horseman, wearing helmet and short chiton, on horse prancing r., spearing falling Macedonian warrior protecting himself with a round shield. Paeonian Hoard I, 445 (same obv. die); Paeonian Hoard II, 192 (same dies); SNG ANS 1040 (same obv. die).
Good style. High relief. Well centred. Extremely fine.

PHARSALOS. Drachm, about 425-400 BC. AR 6.08 g. Head of Athena r., wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with Skylla raising her l. hand to shade her eyes; behind neck, artist signatures [TH - MI] in tiny letters. Rev. Φ - Α - Ρ - Σ Thessalian horseman on horse prancing r., wearing petasos, chlamys and short chiton, brandishing lagobolon with his raised r. hand; the horse wears a beaded necklace and has a B branded on its haunch; below the foot of the horseman, signature HT in tiny letters. BCD, Thessaly II, 642 (same dies); Lavva 174, 154c (this specimen).
Rare. Toned. Good very fine

ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΜΙΘΡΑ ΔΑΤΟΥ / ΕΥΠΑΤΟΡΟΣ Stag grazing l.; in field l., star above crescent and monogram, in field r., date ΓΚΣ (= year 223 of the local era) and monogram, below royal epithet, Θ (= 9th month of the year); all within wreath of ivy leaves and blossoms (corymbes). Rare. Good portrait. Large flan. Nice old cabinet tone. Extremely fine.
